Jorge Benguche is not exactly a household name on the streets of Glasgow.
But those comparisons with a certain Karim Benzema should give Hoops fans some idea of what to expect from a striker who has been linked with a shock move to Parkhead, by La Prensa.
Like Real Madrid’s long-serving number nine, this exciting 24-year-old might not be the most prolific striker in the world today. But there is more to his game than putting the ball in the back of the net.
Benguche is at his best when he is dropping between the lines, linking the play between defence and attack and opening up spaces for his team-mates.
Though, with two goals in three caps for the Honduran national team, he has a ruthless streak in his locker too.
“Benguché can be compared to Karim Benzema, as a similar type of striker. Mobility is his strength: when he has room in front of him he is really difficult to stop,” Hondura coach Fabian Coito says.
“Thanks to his talent, he can assert himself in Europe.”

After an impressive season with Olimpia, Benguche appears to be on the verge of a life-changing move to a major European league.
La Prensa reports that he is a target for Celtic, while Cagliari and Belenenses have already expressed an interest.
But maybe there is another fearsome French striker who Benguche should be more ready compared with – a certain Odsonne Edouard.
While the reigning Scottish Premiership Player of the Year wants to stick around for ‘ten in a row’, he looks certain to follow in the footsteps of Moussa Dembele and Virgil van Dijk eventually.
Edouard, of course, spent a season learning from Dembele before replacing him at Parkhead. Maybe Benguche could do the same.
