Patrick Vieira has said that Arsenal anchor Thomas Partey has been badly out of form in recent games.
The £45 million (BBC Sport) man has not looked at his controlling best in the past couple of weeks, stretching back to his error against West Ham United that led to Lucas Paqueta’s opener.

It was no coincidence to discover that Mikel Arteta decided to drop the former Atletico Madrid midfielder in place of Jorginho ahead of his side’s 3-1 victory against Chelsea.
Aside from Partey’s poor showing against the Hammers he was shocking against the likes of Southampton and Manchester City as well.
As Arsenal made light work of Chelsea on Tuesday night, Patrick Vieira has said that Thomas Partey has been far from his brilliant best.

“I think Partey is going through a really difficult period. The last couple of games he didn’t play at his best and Mikel decided to play Jorginho”, he said on Sky Sports (02/05/2023, 19:30).

While Mikel Arteta’s side sit at the top of the Premier League table, it is key to remember that Pep Guardiola’s men are just two points off them with two games in hand.
As a result, if Arsenal do aim to become the champions of England, Thomas Partey must listen to Patrick Vieira and up his performances.
For most of the 2022/2023 season, the Ghanaian international has been in terrific touch.
Partey was put alongside the likes of Rodri and Casemiro as not just the best defensive midfielder in the league but across the world and deservedly so.
But as his displays have undergone a significant dip during crunch time, it’s high-time that the experienced campaigner steps his game up.
