Jamie Carragher has claimed that Liverpool and Manchester City being ‘out of this world’ under Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola has made life ‘really difficult’ for the likes of Arsenal, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

The former defender added that the likes of Arsenal are criticised at times for not challenging for the Premier League title, but in truth, Liverpool and Man City have just set the bar so high.

In order to, not only win the title, but to challenge for it, you have to accumulate 90+ points over the course of the season.

They are numbers both, the current holders, and Klopp and his players have produced when lifting English football’s biggest crown during these past few years.

That was touched upon by Carragher, who lauded two of the best teams to have graced English football during the modern era.

“I think what Liverpool and Man City are doing,” said Carragher. “Not just this season, but what they have done for the past three or four seasons.

“It makes it really difficult for Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal.

“I mean we are critical of those teams, at times, for not challenging the top. But what Klopp and Guardiola are doing is out of this world – it’s very difficult for other teams.”

Arsenal will feel that they are progressing well under Mikel Arteta, but they are nowhere near the standard of those right at the top.

It’s clear that the north London club will need the transfer market to help them along, as well as both Liverpool and Man City faltering slightly.

The contracts of both Klopp and Guardiola will be nearing their end during these coming years and it will be interesting to see if they extend.

Liverpool just want to add more Premier League titles to their armoury, whilst Man City are craving that all-important European Cup.
