Yeremy Pino joining Arsenal remains an active prospect this summer, despite interest from Liverpool.

The Villarreal attacker is being heavily linked with transfers to both the Gunners and Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It was reported earlier in August that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been encouraging the club’s hierarchy to sign the player for month, while Fabrizio Romano revealed only this week that Pino is definitely a player on Liverpool’s radar.

The North Londoners have spent more than their Merseyside counterparts in this transfer window, despite the Reds breaking their club record to sign £85 million Darwin Nunez.

But with Arteta’s side needing more work done on their squad, Yeremy Pino joining Arsenal is a more realistic proposition than Liverpool, one might argue.

And according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the 19-year-old – valued at £68 million – may well be ‘attracted’ to the idea of joining the Emirates Stadium outfit.

He told Give Me Sport: “Yeah, I think so. Most players, whatever league they’re playing in, are really attracted to come into the Premier League, and I think Arsenal are a club going in the right direction right now under Mikel Arteta.”

Is Yeremy Pino joining Arsenal?

With Pino being a winger, this could complete Arsenal’s window in style.

You could argue that a wide player is the missing piece of the jigsaw for Arteta and Edu Gaspar, the one position which could significantly strengthen the prospect of them qualifying for the Champions League.

If Liverpool are genuinely interested – and according to Romano, they are – then they’re a serious threat and it’ll be fascinating to see which outfit wins.
