Arsene Wenger thinks if Harry Kane were to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, then he could fetch a transfer fee of around ‘£80 million’.

Even though the former Arsenal manager’s comment surprised fellow pundit, Andy Gray, it was explained by Wenger that ‘you don’t find strikers of that quality’.

Harry Kane is edging closer to his 30th birthday, and in July, he will have 12 months left to run on his Tottenham contract – it was recently suggested that he has hinted he will stay.

A certain Daniel Levy has a big call to make on a player that has outgrown them, needs to be playing in the Champions League and winning trophies.

The trophies haven’t been on the table for a while and the north London club are also set to miss out on a top-four finish this season, so it increases the chances of their star man leaving.

But knowing that you could sign the England captain for free in 2024, how much money would a team put on the table for him, beIN SPORTS discussed.

“What would someone pay for him now, with a year to go, what would he be worth,” asked Gray. “They were talking over £100 million 12 months ago when Man City were interested in. Surely nowhere near that with 12 months left and at 30 years of age?!”

Wenger responded: “But he won’t go for less than £80 million.” to which Gray responded: “£80m, really?”

Wenger then added: “You don’t find strikers of that quality.”

WILL KANE STAY?

There is loyalty, then there is Kane-type of loyalty, that’s if he decides to stay beyond his contract expiring.

Everything about Spurs, the mood around the place, how the club is being run by Levy, the lack of ambition from the top and the quality of the squads suggests that Kane should leave.

But if he decides to sign a new contract, then Spurs might as well start building that statue of him now.
