Darren Ambrose has claimed that it’s ‘realistic’ for Newcastle United to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane, as he told talkSPORT.
The former Crystal Palace player, who is a boyhood Tottenham fan, thinks Daniel Levy would be happy to sell Kane if the money was right, as he was seemingly indicating in the summer.
It was well-documented that Kane wanted to leave Spurs for Manchester City, but a move didn’t materialise, as he took to Twitter to express that he is staying at the club ‘this summer’.
And with Newcastle now in the hands of the richest owners in world football, it is throwing up some spicy names that could possibly take the managerial hotseat and don the club’s colours out on that pitch.
Ambrose put forward Kane’s name and shared how Newcastle now have a ‘project’ and better chance than Spurs of winning a trophy.
“Say Daniel Levy puts on another ridiculous fee that no-one else is going to pay,” said Ambrose. “And Newcastle say, ‘there is £150 million, we will match that.
“Who has more chance of winning a trophy? Tottenham or Newcastle now? Everyone is going to say (Newcastle) because they have got a project. They have got ambition. So, that could be realistic.
“It’s not what Tottenham’s ambition is. It’s what Levy wants for the player. Like we saw in the summer, if he got that then he wouldn’t be there now.”

During these coming months and years, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Newcastle do pull off quite a few shocks.
Nevermind signing, but just trying to go for the England captain would be a shock in itself.
But given what happened with the Spurs striker this summer, you have to question why he would want to move to St James’ Park.
He seemingly wants to leave North London for trophies, and even though the Magpies has a serious project on their hands, he won’t be going to Newcastle any time soon.
But that still won’t stop Newcastle from knocking on teams doors that don’t expect it and putting serious money on the table that might just turn a few heads.
