West Ham could soon become the second side in claret and blue to have Danny Ings and Sean Dyche within their ranks.
What’s the story?
Well, the 51-year-old worked with the England international at Burnley, where he scored 40 goals in 113 games under his guidance.
Now, the pair could be reunited at West Ham after the east Londoners signed Ings for £15m.
Dyche joining the Hammers is seen as “realistic” – according to respected journalist Dean Jones – as David Moyes struggles to get his West Ham players firing.
After back-to-back campaigns in which West Ham have qualified for European football, the Irons now find themselves 18th in the Premier League with just 15 points to their name, at the time of writing.
Jones told Give Me Sport: “I’m even hearing the potential of Sean Dyche coming into West Ham might be realistic at the moment, but obviously if they lose to Everton, it’s going to be a pretty poisonous atmosphere at West Ham and at that point David Moyes will be a dead man walking.”
Dyche has been unemployed since Burnley surprisingly sacked him back in April, before suffering relegation to the Championship under his old assistant, Mike Jackson.
Dyche could surprise people at West Ham
If Dyche does end up replacing Moyes at the London Stadium, we feel he could surprise a few people.
The Kettering-born tactician guided Burnley to 72 Premier League wins from 258 games, which is impressive given the lack of investment in new signings during his reign at Turf Moor.
Dyche also remarkably managed to get Burnley into the Europa League back in 2018.
Of course, he carries a reputation of being a defensive manager, but at West Ham, he will be given talent such as Lucas Paqueta, Said Benrahma, Declan Rice and Gianluca Scamacca, the likes of which he has never been afforded.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as speculation could intensify if Moyes fails to turn the situation around.
