
Paul Scholes said on BT Sport 1 (9:13pm, February 21, 2021) that he was surprised that Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce decided to take off Allan Saint-Maximin against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Newcastle suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of United away from home in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Saint-Maximin started the match and scored in the 36th minute, but Bruce decided to take off the 23-year-old winger in the 77th minute.
United legend Scholes was following the match for BT Sports, and he was surprised that Bruce took off the youngster.
Scholes said on BT Sport 1 (9:13pm, February 21, 2021): “Saint-Maximin especially was a threat tonight. He is a threat to any team, to be fair.”
The Englishman added: “I was real surprised Bruce took him off actually.”
