Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Real Madrid ace.

When speaking exclusively to Spanish radio station El Larguero, Real Madrid ace Raphael Varane admitted that Manchester United have made contact with his representatives over the possibility of securing his signature in the summer.
The 40-capped France international is widely considered to be one of the finest centre-backs in European football, and he has been a mainstay in Zinedine Zidane’s team this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Central defence is certainly an area where Jose Mourinho will want to improve in the summer, with Victor Lindelof failing to live up to expectations at Old Trafford so far this season.

Varane, 24, is a reported summer target for the Red Devils, with Spanish media outlet Don Balon claiming that Los Blancos have told United that they can sign the centre-back for €60 million (£53.5 million).
The Frenchman added weight to the rumour yesterday, by telling El Larguero that United have in fact already initiated contact with his representatives:

“There were contacts, but not directly.”
Quite where Varane ends up remains to be seen, but if Mourinho does manage to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer, he would surely prove to be a wonderful asset to Manchester United’s squad.
