Spurs enjoyed a successful Premier League campaign this season, on the most part, but Mauricio Pochettino has plenty of work to do throughout the course of the summer, if he is to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours on all fronts next term, and going one step further than this year’s efforts.
Many believe that Tottenham’s starting XI is arguably the strongest in the Premier League, but that they lack that one superstar signing who would elevate them to league winners and genuine contenders in Europe.
With that in mind, the Lilywhites should go all out for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this summer, with the Spaniard reportedly eyeing more game-time next season.

That will obviously be hard to come by at the Bernabeu, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Isco and Marco Asensio all competing for starting berths for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Despite his lack of starts for Madrid this season, he has once again showcased his incredible talent, scoring 20 goals in 40 outings for the La Liga giants, with 22 of those appearances coming from the substitutes bench.

Morata is a deadly finisher when presented with a goalscoring opportunity, and his movement is second-to-none. He could play as part of a two-pronged attack alongside Harry Kane, with Dele Alli slotted in just behind them. The Spain and England internationals could form a devastating partnership that would undoubtedly give their already potent front-line a more clinical edge.
He is under contract with Madrid until the summer of 2021, however, so it will take a huge amount of money to convince the Spanish club into selling.
The time has now come for Spurs to prove their true ambition though, and the signing of someone of Morata’s ilk would be a major statement to every club in Europe that Tottenham very much mean business next season.
