Madrid want to sign a new striker and although Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is president Florentino Perez’s preferred choice, the club realise that signing the England international will be difficult.

As a result, Rashford has been identified as an alternative and because he is still so young, it’s believed the 19-year-old could be integrated into the starting XI more slowly and therefore allow more time to phase Karim Benzema out.
This is something Ronaldo is said to approve of, rather than drafting in Kane who would expect to replace Benzema immediately if he were to leave Spurs.

While Rashford and his fellow England international are very different players and therefore targeting one or the other seems a strange decision from Los Blancos, the fact the Spanish giants are looking to Old Trafford for recruitment should be greeted as great news in North London.
Kane has been in superb form for the Premier League club over the past few years and is integral to their success, but it would be very surprising if the 24-year-old was not even slightly tempted by the prospect of playing at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
