Real Madrid and Brazil star Casemiro spoke to Globo Esporte about Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
The former Manchester City man has been one of Villa’s most impressive players since Project Restart. Luiz had a difficult start to his career in Dean Smith’s squad, but he has developed into a fine player.
The Brazilian’s performances reportedly caught the eye of his former side, who have a buy-back clause. Globo Esporte claimed in August that Pep Guardiola’s City were considering a deal for Luiz, but Villa have managed to keep hold of him.
Luiz has been called up to Brazil’s national squad for their games in this international break. Casemiro, his skipper at international level, spoke about the Villa star, where he claimed that a ‘high level player’ like him shouldn’t have too many problems adapting at the top level.
He said: “The adaptation period for the game is short, Douglas will play, it will be the first game I play with him and of course he needs time to adapt, but a high level player (like him) can understand by looks.”

The Real Madrid man is one of the best midfielders in world football, and Luiz will learn a lot playing alongside him. If the Villa man shines with his national team, his confidence will be high when he returns to Birmingham next week.
Villa themselves are on a high after thrashing Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend.
With tough games against Leicester, Leeds and Arsenal coming up, they will have to be at their best, and Luiz will have to play a key part if they are to shock a few more teams this term.
