Jardim is said to be high on Southampton’s wishlist.

Southampton’s hopes of appointing Leonardo Jardim as Mark Hughes’ successor could face yet another obstacle.
According to the Mirror (November 6th, page 55), the Portuguese is high on the Southampton board’s wishlist if Hughes is relieved of his duties.
The newspaper speculates that a defeat to Watford this weekend could bring an end to the Welshman’s short Saints career, but adds that by that point, Jardim may have already found work in China’s Super League.
Nevertheless, ESPN reports that Jardim could have even bigger fish to fry after leaving his role as AS Monaco head coach earlier this season, with Real Madrid themselves considering the 44-year-old.
And the chance to lead what is arguably the world’s biggest club is one the Venezuela-born boss would surely find difficult to ignore.

As for alternatives, Southampton’s list is topped – according to the Mirror – by Sam Allardyce and David Moyes.
