Real Madrid have been left confused over Marco Asensio’s form and future amid links over a 2023 move to Arsenal or Liverpool.
The rumours about Asensio just keep coming and coming.
Mundo Deportivo noted over the weekend that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has asked for Asensio to be brought to North London.
The Sunday Mirror then reported (04/12, p83) that Liverpool are expected to be make a ‘major push’ for Asensio in 2023.
Out of contract at the end of the season, it sounds like Asensio will have a couple of offers if he fancies a move to the Premier League.

Real Madrid have been left confused over Marco Asensio
Asensio has been out in Qatar as part of the Spanish World Cup squad.
The versatile attacker – who usually plays in from the right flank but even played as a striker for Spain – will be gutted today having been knocked out by Morocco on Tuesday night.
The subject of Asensio’s future isn’t going to end any time soon though.
Asensio was a mixed bag at the World Cup and that goes for his recent time with Real too.
SPORT now claim that Real have been left very confused by Asensio.
Whilst they feel that Asensio has taken a step forward of late but there are still disappointing performances that leave them split on whether to keep him or not.
It’s added that Real are simply not willing to match any offer that comes for Asensio and their current offer for him would be the same terms in his current contract.
Asensio and agent Jorge Mendes may now prefer to seek offers from elsewhere in the hope of getting a better offer from a club like Arsenal or Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has only started one league game for Real this season and if he extends his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, he will have to make do with a spot on the bench.
Real don’t seem fully convinced by Asensio and if Arsenal or Liverpool seriously want him, the door appears to be open for a 2023 move.
