Real Madrid have reportedly been tracking the Tottenham Hotspur man for quite some time.

Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen

According to a report from Spanish media outlet DM, Real Madrid have been put off signing Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen this summer following his underwhelming performance against Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

The Daily Star claims that Madrid are preparing a massive overhaul this summer, and are targeting the likes of Spurs ace Eriksen, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

The Denmark international joined Tottenham from Ajax in the summer of 2013 for around £11.5 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the world’s best attacking midfielders, racking up 66 goals and 86 assists in 277 appearances in all competitions in the process.

Eriksen has just one year remaining on his contract with Spurs, however, so it would be no surprise to see him leave for pastures new this summer.

According to DM, however, he might not be heading to Madrid this summer.

They claim that the Spanish club have cooled their interest in the 27-year-old after his poor performance in the Champiosn League final.

Whether Eriksen will now sign a new deal with Tottenham, however, remains to be seen.
