Real Madrid eased to a 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Past head-to-heads really do not matter in football, and Real Madrid showed that against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Heading into the Champions League Group B clash at Anfield, the Spanish giants had a poor record against the Reds, having yet to win or score against them.
Some were suggesting that, despite the odds, Liverpool will be able to maintain that proud record against the defending European champions.
But Madrid had other ideas and pretty much streamrolled the Premier League outfit, winning the game 3-0 to enhance their chances of progressing to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The 3-0 victory margin also kept Carlo Ancelotti’s astonishing European record as the Madrid coach. With the Italian coach at the helm, Los Blancos have averaged three goals or more in Europe so far.
