Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been strongly linked with Aurelien Tchouameni, but it seems that Real Madrid are now on the verge of signing the AS Monaco defensive midfielder.
Real Madrid could sign Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni
Sky Italia are reporting that Madrid have already made an offer of €70 million (£59.50m) to Monaco for Tchouameni, who is wanted by Liverpool as well.
Monaco are wiling to sell the 22-year-old defensive midfielder this summer, but the Ligue 1 club are looking for €80 million (£68m).
As reported by RMC Sport earlier this month, Tchouameni already has an agreement with Liverpool and Madrid.

So, for Madrid to complete the transfer deal, they just need to pay the €10 million (£8.50m) extra that Monaco want.
Transfer blow
Now, this will come as a blow for Liverpool.
L’Equipe reported this month that Tchouameni is ‘dreaming’ of linking up with Liverpool and playing for the Premier League club.
However, if the 2022 Champions League finalists do not meet Monaco’s transfer demands, then clearly the midfielder will not move to Anfield.
Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the world and could win the Champions League tonight with victory over Liverpool in the final.
Would Liverpool pay €80 million (£68m) for a 22-year-old midfielder when Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson are doing so well?
Probably not.
