Ben Foster told his Cycling GK YouTube channel that Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is like ‘real-life FIFA’.
The 38-year-old was on the opposition team on Sunday when Arsenal beat Watford 1-0 in the Premier League.
It was a nervy and controversial game in North London, with Foster saving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s spot-kick and pulling off some high-quality saves to boot.
If it wasn’t for Foster in between the sticks, then Mikel Arteta’s men could have scored more, although, the away team weren’t too pleased with the build-up to Emile Smith Rowe’s strike.
Nonetheless, this is what Foster had to say about Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and how immaculate it is.
“Arsenal way, at the Emirates in the Premier League,” said Foster. “It doesn’t get much better than this.
“I can’t wait to show you all how nice this stadium is. Honestly, when you walk out onto that pitch.
“Wow, it’s like somebody, no joke, it’s like somebody has been on their hands and knees, with a ruler and scissors, and made sure every blade of grass is exactly the same size.
“Lovely, lovely stadium. Rob Elliott (back-up Watford GK) has made an unreal observation about this stadium. This is like you are playing a real-life game of FIFA. Seriously. You know when you play FIFA, and you look around and it’s like a lovely, lovely stadium. This is what it’s like. It’s class.”
Things are rosy in the Emirates garden, at this moment in time, and that early nightmare start now seems a long distant memory.
Arsenal haven’t turned a corner yet, but they are slowly turning towards a direction that the supporters want to see.
The aim for the Gunners is to get back into Europe, the minimum aim being the Europa League.
Whilst many wouldn’t expect them to finish in the top four, given the form of a Manchester United, it does open that door for them to enter.
