Gary Lineker has praised Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:44pm, October 23, 2021), and so has Martin Keown, for his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker has said that Gelhardt made a real impression after he came on as a substitute for Leeds against Wolves at Elland Road yesterday.

Arsenal legend Keown believes that the 19-year-old forward changed the game.

The Premier League match between Leeds and Wolves finished in a 1-1 draw.

Lineker said: “I don’t know whether I am getting older or footballers are getting younger, don’t know what it is, but 19-year-old Joe Gelhardt made a real impression, didn’t he, when he came on?

Keown responded: “Breath of fresh air when he came on, running with the ball, he completely changed the game.”
