Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Darwin Nunez on the club’s official website after his side’s win against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool hammered bitter rivals Manchester United 7-0 at home.
Nunez started the match.
The 23-year-old Uruguay international striker scored two goals.
The £140,000-a-week (The Times) striker found the back of the net first in the 47th minute and then on 75 minutes.
And Klopp was impressed, suggesting that Nunez could soon explode.
Jurgen Klopp on Darwin Nunez for Liverpool vs Manchester United
Klopp said: “I think nobody was in doubt about Darwin’s future impact when he settles because he is a real force of nature, Cody plays in the most difficult area of the pitch against a man-marking side which is super tricky, but how he keeps himself on his feet there and has the overview of everybody else, Mo is Mo, midfielders around.”

Getting confidence
In our opinion, Darwin Nunez’s two goals for Liverpool against Manchester United will enhance his confidence and make him believe in himself more.
The striker joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
While the youngster had worked hard and is always a handful to the opposition defenders, he does tend to miss too many chances.
After United at Anfield on Sunday, though, Nunez was very clinical.
And Liverpool fans will hope that the striker can maintain that.
Nunez has scored eight goals and given three assists in 15 Premier League starts and has scored four goals in four UEFA Champions League starts for Liverpool so far this season.
