Danny Murphy has claimed that Dejan Kulusevski is a ‘real find’ for Tottenham Hotspur and a player that is ‘super-reliable’ for Antonio Conte.

The 22-year-old scored and assisted for Spurs over the weekend as they came from behind to beat Southampton 4-1 and open their account for the new Premier League season in fine style.

Kulusevski ended the last campaign as one of the league’s best players and he is already putting his name up in lights ahead of his first full season in north London.

Whilst the left-footed youngster is donning the colours of Spurs, he is still a Juventus player and will make his move to the capital permanent once his loan deal ends.

Back in Turin, Kulusevski struggled to make a name for himself and it was a risky move from Conte and Fabio Paratici to bring him on board in January.

But he hasn’t disappointed his new fans one bit, as former midfielder turned pundit, Danny Murphy, praised the impact he has had, as he told Premier League Productions (06/08/22 at 5:05 pm)

“He’s super-reliable in the build-up,” said Murphy. “He’s reliable with his defensive work. If he can add more goals to his name, then he’s a real find because he didn’t score too many when he was in Italy.

“But he seems to be playing with more freedom and confidence in this Spurs side. He is just calm, isn’t he?! (for his goal). He is confident in a team is well-balanced and he went at Southampton.”

TOTTENHAM’S FRONT THREE

Usually, when Tottenham’s forward line is spoken about only two players are mentioned on a regular basis – Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, and rightly so.

For years and years, they have produced the goods, broken Premier League records and won Golden Boots, with Son winning his first last season.

But, slowly but surely, someone like Kulusevski is making that deadly front two at Hotspur Way into a fearsome trio.

Whilst Richarlison has been added to the club’s books this summer – he was suspended for the Southampton game – he will have to do a lot to get into this Spurs side.
