West Ham United and Real Betis reportedly want to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis are interested in signing Andreas Pereira from Manchester United in the January transfer window, meaning that West Ham United will face competition for the 23-year-old midfielder.
The Mirror reported in December that West Ham want to sign Pereira on loan from Premier League rivals United in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old is struggling for playing time at United at the moment, and it does make sense for the midfielder – who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – to leave the Red Devils on loan for the rest of the season.
West Ham will be a good destination for the midfielder, given the way manager Manuel Pellegrini plays his football and the Hammers’ injury issues at the moment.
Betis’s reported interest in Pereira, though, does complicate matters for West Ham.
Quique Setien’s side are just four points off the fourth spot in La Liga at the moment, and there is a genuine chance that they could end up in the Europa League places at least this season.
West Ham can at most hope for the seventh spot in the Premier League table this season, and Pereira may find playing for Betis more tempting.
According to the CIES Football Observatory, Pereira is valued at €14.4 million (£12.96m).
