Real Betis are set to test Newcastle’s resolve with a swoop for Spanish talisman Ayoze Perez.

La Liga outfit Real Betis are planning an imminent swoop for Newcastle’s talented striker Ayoze Perez, while a number of Premier League clubs are said to also be monitoring the Spaniard’s situation, according to The Sun.
The 24-year-old came to St James’ Park from Tenerife in 2014 for a fee of just £1.6million, and has since established himself as a vital member of Rafa Benitez’s starting 11, netting 35 goals in his 100 appearances with the Magpies.
It would seem that the situation isn’t perilous for Toon supporters though, as Perez stated his preference to stay in England’s top flight over a return to Spain earlier this month, in quotes via Sun Sport.

Perez revealed “I feel like I want to keep playing in the Premier League. I am really enjoying it and I am really happy in Newcastle. They gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League, to score a lot of goals, to be at the top level.
“You never know what can happen in the future, we will see.”
Benitez will likely do everything in his power to keep the industrious little forward in the ranks at St James’ Park though, more so now than earlier; considering Perez’s sensational finish to the Premier League campaign, bagging five in eight.
