Everton manager Sean Dyche has waxed lyrical about Dwight McNeil, saying the Toffees winger is “finding his feet again”.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Dyche as saying the Everton coaching setup has gone for the “simplicity” approach with McNeil.

Since Dyche took the reins at Goodison Park, the 23-year-old winger has gone from strength to strength.

Under Frank Lampard, McNeil was in and out of the Everton team, and was even booed off on occasion.

However, linking up with his former Burnley boss has proven incredibly beneficial.

McNeil has started every game under Dyche and scored a stunning winner against Brentford on Saturday.

Everton are next in action on Saturday evening, when they head to Chelsea.

Speaking ahead of the match, Dyche stressed this wasn’t a case of McNeil evolving, but just finding his feet.

He also said the former Burnley talent is “ready to improve” as Everton look to kick on away from trouble.

“He’s not evolved, he’s just finding his feet again,” said Dyche.

“He’s got his shoulders back and we’ve reminded him when he works hard and relaxes, he’s a good player.

“The information to him has been very simple, he’s a player ready to improve. Sometimes it’s the simplicity.”

Our View

It’s good to see McNeil finding his feet again.

It was a shame to see him misfiring earlier this season, but Dyche really is the perfect manager to get the best out of him.

McNeil has already had a hand in helping Everton to six crucial points, having scored the winner at the weekend and assisted for James Tarkowski against Arsenal.

Hopefully he will continue to improve and deliver vital contributions for the Toffees.
