Martin Keown has claimed that Tottenham target, Brennan Johnson, is now ‘ready-made’ for the Premier League, as he told Match of the Day.

On Sunday, Johnson helped his Nottingham Forest side thrash Leicester City 4-1 in the FA Cup.

The 20-year-old attacker seemed to have timed his performance to perfection yesterday because there are suggestions that Tottenham’s Sporting Director, Fabio Paratici, was watching his performance.

Not only did the Nottingham-born player glide across the pitch and cause havoc against a Premier League defence.

But he also managed to get on the scoresheet when he pounced on a backward pass and then kept his composure to slot home.

For the second FA Cup game running, Forest have knocked out Premier League opposition after the Championship side did so with Arsenal.

Whilst on commentary duty, Keown was impressed by what he was seeing from the 20-year-old and named him the Man of the Match during yesterday’s all-Midlands affair.

“He has been absolutely outstanding,” said Keown. “His involvement. His pace and his intelligence.

“He is ready-made for the Premier League. These Forest fans will be hoping that it’s here in Nottingham.”

Ever since Christian Eriksen departed north London, Spurs have been searching for that creative talent to drive them up the pitch.

Johnson, as well as playing out wide, can also sit in the pockets and put the opposition on their backside.

The signs are currently positive for the Forest star and it won’t be too long before he is showcasing his talent in the Premier League.

Those in the East Midlands will be hoping that it’s in their colours, if not, then he will be snapped up by another Premier League team sooner rather than later.
