Celtic linked forward Gyrano Kerk is ready for the ‘next step’ with his future at Eredivisie outfit Utrecht looking increasingly uncertain, agent Richinel Bryson has told Voetbal International.

The 24-year-old’s talent was never in question, but his end product most certainly was.

However, after a stunning 2019/20 campaign in which Kerk has finally added a much-needed ruthless streak to his searing pace, the jet-heeled Dutchman could be rewarded with a life-changing summer switch.

Utrecht coach John Van den Brom has already admitted to the Daily Record that Celtic have been keeping an eye on his 11-goal talisman.

And, after being named the club’s Player of the Year, it seems unlikely that Kerk will be staying around for a fifth season at Stadio Galgenwaard.

“Gyrano is incredibly ambitious. He is 24 years old and has had a very strong season,” says his agent, who has held conversations with interested parties already this summer.

“Gyrano has proven to be ready for the next step.”

RTV Utrecht reported in May that Kerk could be sold for £3.5 million, a bargain for an ever-improving player who contributed 12 assists as well as 11 goals last season.

Such a fee is unlikely to put off Celtic, who will need to replace Odsonne Edouard sooner or later even if the France U21 star has his heart set on sticking around for ‘ten in a row’.
