Juan Musso’s agent claims that the Argentine goalkeeper is ready to leave Udinese this summer with Watford a potential destination, while speaking to Radio Marte in quotes translated by TMW.

Ben Foster continues to defy Father Time but, at 37, even the most evergreen of shot-stoppers cannot go on forever.

And if Watford are in the market for a potential long-term replacement for the one-time England international, then who better than one of the standout stars of the 2019/20 Serie A season?

26-year-old Musso has been a revelation between the sticks for Udinese, keeping 12 clean sheets in 34 matches while stunning all observers with his lightning-powered reflexes.

But, after two years with the so-called Little Zebras, there is a growing feeling that the former Racing Club glovesman is ready for a fresh start.

“I sincerely believe that Juan Musso is already ready for a great club,” says Vicente Montes.

“In England it is said Watford (want him) and also in Spain they speak of Atletico Madrid, which follows him with interest and would target him if (Jan) Oblak left.

“I recently spoke to Benfica, but I think Juan would cost too much for them right now. It takes a lot of money to convince Pozzo to sell him.”

Musso is understood to be valued at around £27 million, a fee that would make the 6ft 4ins South American the second-most expensive signing in Watford history behind the electric winger Ismaila Sarr.

With Gino Pozzo counting both Udinese and Watford in his portfolio of football clubs, do not rule out a loan move to Vicarage Road.

After all, Musso’s transfer value would go through the roof on the back of an impressive season in England.
