Reading should consider a move for Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill as the long-term successor for Yann Kermorgant.

Reading should take advantage of the cooling interest from Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and swoop for Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill.
HITC Sport reported earlier this month that the 24-year-old was the subject of a bid from Wolves and a move was very much on the cards. However the departure of Paul Lambert will have put a potential move on hold as they look to appoint a new manager.

Reading, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, will be looking to strengthen their forward options as they seek to find a suitable long-term replacement for last season’s top goalscorer Yann Kermorgant.
35-year-old Kermorgant, who scored 19 goals last campaign, will retire at the end of next season and Royals boss Jaap Stam will be keen to have in place a player capable of replacing the Frenchman.

Hugill would fit the bill perfectly. After scoring 12 goals in a mid-table Preston side, he has the potential to flourish in a Reading side that will hope to be battling at the top end of the Championship table again next season.
The former Port Vale man is a big, mobile forward who has the ability to bring other forwards into play with his physical presence and ability to play with his back towards goal; something that Kermorgant has successfully done at the Madejski Stadium in recent years.
Reading play on the front foot and have gained a reputation for their free-flowing brand of football. Hugill has proven that he is capable of scoring goals in the Championship, something he could replicate as the spearhead in the Reading attack.
