The 24-year-old only signed from Leicester City last summer, but it seems Burnley are actively looking for a Michael Keane replacement.

With the pain still felt among Reading supporters following their penalty shootout play-off final defeat to Huddersfield Town, the last thing they needed was Premier League clubs lurking over their prospects – but that’s exactly what’s happened as Burnley and Swansea City are interested in defender Liam Moore, as reported by the Reading Chronicle.
It’s believed that Burnley are looking for replacements for the seemingly inevitable departure of England international Michael Keane, and have identified the 24-year-old as a possible replacement for the imposing centre back.

With this in mind, Reading should play hardball over Moore’s departure, and do everything they can to ensure that they get a colossal fee for the defender, that stretches into eight digit figure territory – so basically, a new club record sale.
It’s been rumoured that Burnley could get as much as £25m for Keane, meaning they have a lot of money to play with when it comes to sourcing a new replacement – while they may want to be conservative, Reading should exploit this as ultimately, they could lose a key player themselves.

Reading’s current record sale is the £6m Hoffenheim paid for the services of Gylfi Sigurdsson back in 2010, as reported by the Guardian and Reading’s official website, and it goes without saying that Reading should at least push for a fee significantly higher than that.
It may seem cynical and it may put Burnley off, but it’s imperative that Reading boss Jaap Stam keeps his best players at the club – and if he can’t do that, then he must make sure he gets top dollar for them.
