Reading and Leeds United will face each other in the Championship next weekend.
Reading manager Jaap Stam has told The Reading Chronicle that he wants his side to win against Leeds United at home next weekend.
The Royals will take on Leeds at the Madejski Stadium in the Championship after the international break.
“It’s nice to go into the international break after a win, especially against a side like Sheffield Wednesday,” Stam told The Reading Chronicle.
“Next we have Leeds who are a quality team doing very well. They are close competition for us so it would be nice to get a good result against them.
“We are already thinking about the game and we will see how everybody is after the international matches.”
Stam’s comments show just how determined and focused Reading are to pick up all three points against Leeds.
The Royals are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 67 points from 38 matches.
Reading will head into the game against the Whites on the back of a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium.
Stam’s side are doing extremely well this season and should end up in the top six.
Leeds, though, will make it hard for Reading. Garry Monk’s side are also in the running for the playoffs, and they will be aiming for all three points at the Madejski Stadium.
The West Yorkshire outfit are currently fourth in the Championship table with 69 points from 38 matches.
