The powerful central defender has yet to make his debut for the Reading first-team, but he is a regular in the club’s Under-23s and also featured in pre-season under Jaap Stam.

The 19-year-old has just returned from a month’s loan at Braintree where he made four appearances for the National Conference side and Reading feel he would benefit by going out on loan again.

Stam is a big admirer of Jules and feels playing in the Scottish Premiership is the next stage in his development before he can return to challenge for a place in the Reading side.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in taking Jules on loan, but Motherwell have moved quickly to agree a deal to take the Scotland Under-21 international on loan until the end of the season.
