Reading boss Paul Clement should consider move for Kyle Bartley.

Amid interest from Premier League side Brighton in Liam Moore, Reading may need to be on the lookout for a new centre-back.

The Mirror‘s transfer blog (24/5 6.18pm) reports Moore has emerged as a top priority for the Seagulls, and Reading may find it hard to deny him a chance at the top flight.

If Liam Moore is sold, then there is only one player who Reading boss Paul Clement should be targeting, his former Swansea defender Kyle Bartley.

Clement is a big fan of Bartley, and was so impressed with him last summer that he personally blocked his permanent move to Leeds United.

Bartley had impressed on loan with Leeds in 2016/17, and he is a proven commodity in the Championship.

He would be an outstanding addition for Reading, and Clement’s recent relationship with him gives the Royals a chance of landing his signature.

Bartley’s spell under Clement was cut short last season as he picked up a knee injury in the first month of the season, and by time he returned, the former Derby boss had been fired.

Leeds are currently trying to sign him again, the Yorkshire Evening Post report… and if there is a chance Clement must get him and ruin their summer plans for a second year in a row, he must take it.
