Leeds United and Reading go head-to-head this weekend.

In pre-match comments published by Get Reading, Royals boss Jaap Stam has been speaking about the upcoming clash with Leeds United.
The Reading manager has angered Whites fans in the past with some of his comments regarding Leeds’ style of play, but this time the under-pressure boss opted to keep things more civil, describing the imminent content in one word.

“It’s going to be another intense game,” Stam told reporters. “They always are and we are looking forward to it.”
Intense is certainly one way to describe it, with both sides in need of the victory for very different reasons.
Leeds stated the season in blistering form, but a recent run of defeats means they have slipped down to fifth in the Championship, four points behind current leaders Cardiff City.

In contrast Reading are just one point above the relegation zone and, while they have a game in hand over many of the teams around them, the Royals simply cannot afford to lose this weekend.
Leeds will know that and, with the attacking players at their disposal, Thomas Christiansen’s side should have more then enough to inflict more misery on their opponents.
This is not the defensive-minded side Stam comments on under Garry Monk. this Leeds team is a very different beast and, despite their recent struggles, they could well put Reading to the sword.
