After Craig Bellamy, David Unsworth and Frank Lampard, former Arsenal and Tottenham defender Sol Campbell now wants to be Oxford manager.
Sol Campbell has emerged as the latest high profile former Premier League star to be linked with the vacant managerial job at Oxford United.
The Daily Mail reports that the former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender has held talks with the U’s about the possibility of succeeding Pep Clotet following his sacking on January 22.
Everton Under-23s boss David Unsworth had been the favourite to take charge at the Kassam Stadium, but is now understood to be out of the running.
According to Wales Online both Craig Bellamy and Paul Ince are also interested in taking up the position at Oxford, while Frank Lampard had previously been touted as a possibility.
While big names in the game from their playing days, Unsworth and Ince are the only two who actually have any management experience.
It may be why Twitter has reacted the way it has to the claims that Campbell could well be the next man in the dugout at the League One club.
