Portuguese outfit Estoril have confirmed via a statement on their official website that young defender Toti Gomes has agreed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been in the market for a new left-back since Jonny Castro Otto was condemned to a lengthy spell on the sidelines, although it seems this 21-year-old newbie is one for the future rather than an immediate option for Wolves’ starting XI.
Record suggested on Wednesday that Gomes, who has agreed a five-year deal at Molineux, will initially be loaned out to Grasshoppers Zurich.
The Swiss side were recently taken over by the wife of Wolves owner Guo Guangchang.
As of right now, it remains uncertain who Gomes will be playing for in 2020/21 – but it certainly won’t be Estoril.
“Estoril Praia – Futebol, SAD informs that it has reached an agreement with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, from England, to assign the sporting rights of athlete Toti Gomes, a 21-year-old defender who has represented the club since 2017,” the statement reads.
“Estoril Praia – Futebol, SAD wishes the player the greatest personal and professional successes.”

Gomes is yet to make his first-team debut for Estoril, making all of his appearances for the club’s U23 side last season, and will become the latest in a long line of little-known youngsters snapped up by Wolves.
The likes of Pedro Neto, Bruno Jordao, Meritan Shabani, Nigel Lonwijk and Ecuador international striker Jose Campana have all moved to the Black Country since the summer of 2019.
