Swansea City will be looking to bolster their attacking options this summer to restore themselves to the top half of the Premier League table.

Swansea City have struggled in front of goal in the 2016/17 campaign, with Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson providing the vast majority of their goals and assists to save them from relegation.

Llorente scored 15 goals and provided one assist for the Swans, whereas Sigurdsson scored nine and assisted 13 to help Paul Clement’s secure their Premier League status after a difficult campaign.

By comparison, Leeroy Fer scored six goals and assisted two and centre-back Alfie Mawson contributed four goals as Swansea’s next best attacking outlets.

The statistics speak for themselves and Swansea have been heavily reliant on their two stars to scrape them across the line time and time again this season.

They will need to bolster their attacking threat if they are to return to battling in the top half of the Premier League next season; and the return of out-of-favour Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony to the Liberty Stadium could prove to be the added dimension they need.

28-year-old Bony has struggled for game time in Manchester City’s star studded squad and was loaned out this season to Stoke City, where he scored only two goals in his 10 appearances for Mark Hughes’ side.

Reports by the Daily Mail suggest Wilfried Bony will be leaving the Etihad this summer with Swansea City and West Ham United interested in his signature.

The strength and ability of Bony is well known to Swansea fans and he could form a formidable partnership with Spanish striker Fernando Llorente to add the additional goal threat the Swans need to challenge further up the Premier League table.
