Swansea City are leading the chase for Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno after bidding for the Spaniard;

Despite rejecting an £11 million offer from Napoli (Telegraph), Liverpool are keen to offload the 24-year-old after falling out of favour under manager Jurgen Klopp.
England midfielder James Milner was preferred in the left-back position last season, quite clearly showing that Moreno was not a long-term solution to Liverpool’s defensive problem.
With the Spaniard’s immediate future almost certain to be away from Anfield, Swansea boss Paul Clement wants to give him another opportunity to prove his worth in England’s top division.
The bid will come as a surprise to Swansea fans, as the club only signed Swedish international left-back Martin Olsson in January, a signing made by Clement when he arrived.
Olsson impressed highly in his 15 appearances for the club, and with fellow left-back Stephen Kingsley also in the first-team picture, the Swans look well equipped in this position.
Clement, however, may have different plans for Moreno if he is successful in landing the former Sevilla man.

Moreno has been come under scrutiny for his defensive capabilities, and has been often criticised for his brashness whilst playing at the back at Liverpool.
The attacking minded full-back did enjoy some success when he first arrived on Merseyside, and this was when he was deployed in a more advanced left midfield role.
Despite this not being considered his strongest position, using Moreno in this same role at the Liberty Stadium next season can be seen as a logical step.
