Swansea City should eye up a move for Norwich City midfielder Alex Pritchard as a potential replacement for Everton target Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Swansea City are currently evading the advances of Everton, with the Welsh club reportedly rejecting a £30 million offer from the Toffees for star-man Gylfi Sigurdsson (Mirror).

It is likely that Ronald Koeman will not be deterred by the latest rejection and will go back in for the Iceland international.

With Everton already spending big on Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen this window, it looks to be a matter of time before the Swans are forced to accept defeat in their bid to keep the 27-year-old at the Liberty Stadium.

Swans boss Paul Clement will be hoping to avoid another relegation battle next season, and this task may prove difficult without Sigurdsson in his team.

Whilst the club hope that Sigurdsson will be a Swansea player when the new Premier League season kicks off, supporters will be hoping that they will be lining up potential replacements.

One player who is capable of filling the void in the Swans midfield would be Norwich City attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard.

The 24-year-old only joined the Canaries from Tottenham last summer in an £8 million deal, signing a four-year deal with the club (Daily Mail).

However, Norwich endured a difficult campaign in the Championship last season. They failed to even secure a play-off place, despite being touted as one of the favourites to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Pritchard scored seven goals and notched up 12 assists in his 35 appearances for the club last season.

With the money made from any Sigurdsson sale likely to be reinvested back into the Swansea squad, the Swans would easily be able to afford any transfer fee commanded by Norwich.

Whilst Norwich will not want to let Pritchard leave after just one season, it will be difficult to wave off any interest from the Premier League.
