Everton are preparing to bid for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud; and the Frenchman would be a perfect match with Ronald Koeman.
According to the Daily Star, Everton will make a move for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku looks set to depart Goodison Park this summer, with former club Chelsea hoping to secure the 24-year-old’s signature for as much as £80 million. And Everton boss Ronald Koeman looks to have already lined up his replacement, with 30-year-old Giroud targeted as a potential candidate to fill the void left by Lukaku.
But Everton might not have it all their own way, as Sky Sports has reported that the French international has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals West Ham.
The Telegraph has reported that Arsenal are looking to bolster their attacking options, with France team-mates Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe, on Arsene Wenger’s radar. This has understandably left Giroud questioning his future at Arsenal.
Giroud has scored 98 goals in 226 for the Gunners, and the former Montpellier hitman has the potential to become a hit on the blue half of Merseyside under the guidance of Koeman.

Everton, who finished 7th in the Premier League in Koeman’s debut season, play with the lone-striker system under the Dutchman that will suit Giroud.
Koeman is renowned for his work with centre-forwards, the former Southampton manager worked wonders with Graziano Pelle during his time at St Mary’s. The Italy international scored 30 goals in his two seasons with the Saints and earned high praise for his performances on the south coast. His work-rate and ability to help provide goals for his team mates was a valuable asset.
Koeman has the potential to do the same with Giroud and this will excite Everton fans as they plan for a life after Romelu Lukaku.
