The 28-year old midfielder is set to extend his stay at Griffin Park by signing a new two-year contract, according to reports from Get West London.

His current contract was due to expire at the end of this season. Judge has been sidelined since April 2016, after he suffered a double leg break. Despite not making a first team appearance for almost a year, the Bees have made their intentions to keep the Republic of Ireland international clear for some time.

In an interview with the Irish Times that he was likely to stay with Brentford and news on his immediate future was imminent.

“I’ll make a decision, but Brentford to me, at this moment in time, feels like the right place to be,” Judge said.

“They’ve been good to me and I feel that when I’ve been playing I’ve been good for them.

“Hopefully you’ll see a bit of news in the next few days.”

Now it seems that Judge and Brentford have come to an agreement which will see his three year spell at the club extended. This news will be well received by Bees supporters who may have feared the worst once reported interest from Newcastle United surfaced.

Before his injury, Judge was fine form and had scored 14 goals in 38 appearances from midfield. This attracted interest from a number of clubs and it seemed a foregone conclusion that the former Blackburn Rovers man was set to move on Griffin Park. His impressive form led to him gaining first and only Republic of Ireland cap.

However, his devastating injury has put a halt on his career and it seems that this has resulted in Judge deciding to stay with Dean Smith’s side. Judge will now be focused on forcing himself back into the first team picture and once again being a key component in the Brentford midfield.
