Milot Rashica’s move to RB Leipzig has stalled as the door swings open for Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to BILD.

While it is almost certain that the £23 million-rated winger will not by bamboozling full-backs in the green of Werder Bremen next season, absolutely no one appears to have any idea where he will end up.

A potential switch to the San Siro and AC Milan went up in smoke as soon as the Rossoneri dispensed with their plans to hire Ralf ‘the Godfather of Gegenpressing’ Rangnick as their new coach.

And with Werder reluctant to budge on their £23 million price-tag, RB Leipzig appear to have got cold feet too.

BILD claim that the Champions League semi-finalists are reluctant to pay such a fee, despite the windfall heading their way from Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea and the revenue accumulated after reaching the latter stages of Europe’s biggest club competition.

Negotiations, BILD add, are ‘on hold’.

So, while the iron is hot, Aston Villa and Wolves must strike.

Kicker claimed in June that a pair of Midland giants had made a bid, with Villa having followed a winger compared to Franck Ribery and an Arsenal-era Alexis Sanchez due to his barrel chest and explosive pace.

Aston Villa would certainly benefit from adding a top-class wide player to their squad to ease the creative burden on the overworked captain Jack Grealish.

And, speaking to Weser Kurier this week, the chairman of Werder Bremen’s supervisory board, Marco Bode, admitted that Rashica has asked to leave the Bundesliga outfit before the window slams shut.
