RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose has lauded Manchester City striker Erling Haaland ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash tonight, with the Bundesliga coach comparing the forward to Marvel superhero Thor.

Speaking to the press via the Daily Mail, Rose was full of praise for Haaland, with the attacker set to demolish the Premier League goalscoring record in a single season with the striker currently sitting on 26 goals in the division, with the 22-year-old also bagging five in Europe.

Whilst many have likened Haaland to a machine, such as the Terminator, Rose took a different approach and instead likened the attacker to the Marvel superhero and Norse god of thunder Thor, with Leipzig boss praising how much the attacker has developed since moving to England.

Rose said when asked about how good Haaland now is since his move to City: “He looks like Thor. If he sees the goal he’s getting crazy about scoring. He improved a lot, his technical side and movement. Now he’s playing for one of best in the world and becoming a world-class player.”

With Haaland having his sights set on winning the Champions League with City, a big performance against Leipzig could be exactly what the Scandinavian forward needs to instil some belief in the club that they can go all the way in Europe this season.

As we know, City are yet to win the Champions League despite reaching the final in 2021 and coming seconds away from a similar feat last season. And for Haaland, the striker unleashing his inner Thor against Leipzig will be exactly what Pep Guardiola wants to see.

Thor comparison is on point for a talent as good as Haaland

Haaland’s Scandinavian roots make a comparison to Thor quite on point for Rose, and with the forward now set for one of the biggest games of CIty’s season so far, the striker will want to light up the Champions League with a huge performance against Leipzig.

As mentioned, the youngster will be set on beating his former Bundesliga rival and increasing his goal tally in Europe, and with Leipzig there for the taking, Haaland could have a field day against the east German side if he hits full speed and taps into his inner superhero later this evening.
