West Ham United could be on the look out for some new centre-backs in the summer transfer window.
Ray Wilkins has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 18th April, that he believes West Ham United should make a move for John Terry this summer.
Chelsea announced yesterday that Terry would be leaving Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
And Wilkins feels that West Ham should offer Terry a chance to stay in London.
“You haven’t mentioned West Ham, and as an east end boy – that might be a nice fit,” the former Chelsea assistant said.
Whether Terry would be open to a move to the London Stadium remains to be seen, but it is thought that the veteran defender wants to remain in the Premier League.
Terry has made just four league starts for Chelsea this season, with Antonio Conte clearly favouring other options.
West Ham are likely to be on the look out for defenders in the summer transfer window, as Slaven Bilic’s side have been left short at the back at times this campaign.
If Terry was to move to West Ham, he would be in competition with the likes of Jose Fonte, Angelo Ogbonna and James Collins for a first-team place.
West Ham are currently in 13th place in the Premier League table, after what has been a rather disappointing campaign.
