Should Liverpool make a move for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney in the summer transfer window?

Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, July 10, 2017) that Celtic defender Kieran Tierney would be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Tierney is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership and is one of the most promising left-backs in Europe.

The 20-year-old has established himself in Brendan Rodgers’s first team at Celtic, and given his talent and calibre, he is only going to improve his game and develop in the coming years.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United star Wilkins believes that Tierney would be a success in the Premier League, and that he would be a good signing for Liverpool.

“I think Tierney could (be a hit in the Premier League),” said Wilkins on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, July 10, 2017).

“I think if Liverpool are looking for a left-back to release James Milner, Tierney looks an outstanding left-back.”

James Milner played well at left-back last season, but the former Leeds United and Newcastle United star is a midfielder by trade.

It would not be wise of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to be confident that the 31-year-old Englishman would be able to repeat his heroics of last season.

Signing an established left-back in the summer transfer window would be a good idea, and Tierney would be a stunning recruit for the Reds.
