Could Chelsea take advantage of Harry Kane’s reported contract situation at Tottenham Hotspur?

Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins said on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, November 14, 2016) that he hopes that Chelsea sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is a key figure in the current Tottenham team.

The England international has been on the books of Spurs his entire professional career so far and has a contract with the North London outfit until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

According to The Sun, Kane earns £60,000 per week at Tottenham and wants a new deal.

It has been reported that the 23-year-old is seeking parity of wages with the Premier League’s other top strikers.

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Wilkins hopes that Spurs lose Kane, and that the striker ends up at his former club Chelsea.

“I hope they do lose him,” said Wilkins about Tottenham’s Kane on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, November 14, 2016). “I hope Chelsea buy him. Hope we buy him.”

Kane has proved his quality and is a very good striker, and Chelsea would be a better team with him.

The London outfit, though, are not exactly in need of a striker at the moment. Diego Costa is the first-choice striker at Chelsea and is in great form, while Michy Batshuayi is only 23 years of age and is supremely talented.
