Wilkins’ idea for Arsenal’s midfielder is not likely to be one that is shared.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Ray Wilkins has claimed that he would let Mesut Ozil leave and bring back Jack Wilshere if he were at Arsenal.
Ozil has been in fine form the Gunners this season, playing a key role as they have challenged at the top of the Premier League.
Wilshere, meanwhile, has been shipped out on loan to Bournemouth to get some much-needed game time under his belt and more importantly find his fitness.

He has impressed with the Cherries and will be hoping that he has done enough to convince Arsene Wenger he has a future at the Emirates.
Wilkins would certainly have him at the club and says he would even go as far as letting Ozil leave to get him into the team.
“I’d bring Jack Wilshere back and let Ozil go. That is only my opinion,” he told talkSPORT.
“I think Jack Wilshere could be the equal of Ozil, if not better. He has a total commitment around the pitch. Ozil has wonderful touches but when he plays against the big teams sometimes you see him go missing.”

Wilshere’s future, or lack of it, at Arsenal, is likely to be a subject that is fiercely debated for the rest of the season.
On current form, he is certainly proving he has something to offer the Gunners should he be able to stay fit long term.
However, Arsenal are well equipped when it comes to midfielders, especially in the centre of the park, and it may take someone departures rather than his fine form before he is given another chance.
