Both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, November 7, 2016) that Tottenham Hotspur are more likely to win the Premier League title this season than Arsenal are.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 11 matches.
Spurs are three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and five points behind leaders Liverpool.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side and Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Wilkins believes that Arsenal are more likely title challengers than Arsenal are.
“Tottenham,” said Wilkins on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, November 7, 2016) when asked who are more likely title challengers: Arsenal or Tottenham.
“I think we are seeing a normal pre-Christmas Arsenal. If Arsenal play like this post-Christmas, then they can win it, but I just think with Harry (Kane), Dele Alli, I think they have got a goal threat.
“I think when (Vincent) Janssen finally settles down, they will have another one to call on that might be able to score them goals as well.”
Tottenham are not playing well at the moment, and their form over the last few games has not been great.
Arsenal are currently in better form than their North London rivals are, and the fans should be optimistic of a title challenge.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are also aiming to win the Premier League title during the 2016-17 campaign.
