Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are currently in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table.

Ray Wilkins has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 24th October, that Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers could struggle to finish in second place in the Scottish Premiership table.
Rangers have started the season in disappointing fashion, and they appear to be struggling to adapt to life back in the top tier.
Mark Warburton’s Glasgow side stormed to the Championship title last season, and they were expected to challenge Celtic immediately upon their return to the top flight.

However, Rangers have failed to live up to expectations and they currently sit in fifth place in the table.
Rangers are already seven points behind their capital rivals, and they have lost both Old-Firm derbies which have taken place so far this term.
Wilkins does not believe that Celtic are Rangers’ only competition either, and he feels that Aberdeen and Hearts could finish above his former side.

“I think it’s very difficult for them,” Wilkins said, when asked whether Rangers can claim second spot this season.
“I think Mark’s done an outstanding job, but it’s going to take a long while to get back to the level that the Rangers supporters will want to see. Aberdeen and Hearts are doing well.”
Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Celtic in their latest outing, meaning that they are now out of the Scottish League Cup.
The Light Blues will be looking to put that disappointment behind them quickly, with Warburton’s men’s next match coming against St. Johnstone on Wednesday evening.
