Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with Manchester City-owned Torino goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT last Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, February 10) that he would be surprised if Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart joined Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Hart moved to Italian club Torino on a season-long loan deal from Premier League giants City in the summer of 2016.

According to a recent report in The Daily Mail, North London outfit Arsenal are interested in signing the England international in the summer of 2017.

It has been reported that Petr Cech will become the second-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium if he remains at the club. Liverpool are also interested in Hart, according to the report in The Daily mail.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Wilkins does not think that Hart will end up at Arsenal.

“I would be surprised if he went to the Emirates because Joe needs to play, he needs to be the first goalkeeper,” said Wilkins on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT last Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, February 10).

Arsenal are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 50 points from 25 matches, while Liverpool are currently fourth in the standings with 49 points from 25 games.
