Ray Wilkins was a guest this morning on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, and shared why he believes that Chelsea hold the advantage over Tottenham ahead of Sunday’s hugely important clash between the two sides.

Spurs currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, five points clear of the Blues, with the race for the Champions League places entering the final stretch.

Both sides have just eight Premier League games remaining this season, so defeat for either of them at Stamford Bridge could seriously harm their hopes of a top four finish.

Wilkins who made 179 league appearances for Chelsea, told Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily why he believes his former club have the edge over the Lilywhites ahead of Sunday’s game:

“It’s a must-win against Tottenham on Sunday, absolute must-win. Tottenham are without Harry Kane, which gives Chelsea the edge. Tottenham are in good form; I think Chelsea playing against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge will have the upper hand.”

Mauricio Pochettino will likely use Heung-Min Son as an auxiliary centre-forward in the absence of Kane, and the South Korean’s fine recent run of form should ensure that the Blues’ defence are kept busy.

Tottenham would arguably settle for a point at Stamford Bridge, whereas nothing less than a win will do for Antonio Conte’s side.
